Work samples
Learning assets I’ve designed, with notes on the problem each one solves and why it’s built the way it is. New pieces are added as projects wrap.

Client Welcome Guide & Workbook
The onboarding packet every new client of The Art of Learning Design™ receives. It explains how the engagement works, what to expect at each stage, and what I’ll need from them.
The problem
New clients come in with the same questions. What happens first? How long does each phase take? What do you need from my team? When those answers live in scattered emails, the first meetings get spent on logistics instead of the training problem we were hired to solve.
What I built
A single guide that walks a client from “who is this consultant” to “here’s exactly what I’m responsible for.” It covers the six-phase Art of Learning Design Method™, the Training Bottleneck Audit, the engagement path from Leverage Scan to handoff, a who-does-what table, services and investment, typical deliverables, and a plain-language glossary.
Design choices
- A “Your role” column on every phase. Sponsors see what they owe at each checkpoint, so reviews don’t stall waiting on them.
- Workbook questions before kickoff. The Bottleneck Audit asks four questions (Time, Skill, Process, Onboarding) that clients answer ahead of time, so we start with their data.
- Costs shown where leaders feel them. A table ties ineffective training to ramp time, rework, manager time, and retention, each with a way to measure it.
- A glossary, not jargon. Terms like happy path, ramp time, and tribal knowledge are defined once in everyday language.

Tips to Close Fast: Loan Officer Quick Reference
A job aid loan officers use while they work a file, so they can find the answer in a click instead of digging through a manual or waiting on someone to reply.
The problem
Loans were stalling between application and processing. I worked with subject matter experts to find out why, and the delays traced back to four recurring causes: incomplete forms, data errors, missed process steps, and missing or mislabeled documentation.
Loan officers knew most of the steps. What they lacked was a fast way to check the right one in the middle of a busy day.
What I built
A click-to-find reference that follows the loan in order: before disclosures, sending disclosures, and Ready for Processing. It also covers how to label documents, a final hand-off checklist, and the habits that close loans faster.
Design choices
- Organized around what the SMEs found. Every step is tagged as an incomplete form, error, missed step, or documentation issue. One click filters to just that problem.
- Start from the symptom. The eight most common delay reasons sit at the top, and each one jumps straight to the step that prevents it.
- Matches the screen. Steps use the same form sections and field numbers loan officers see in the system (1003 Part 2, line 903, gift funds in 4d), so search finds what they’re looking at.
- A checklist before hand-off. Progress shows at a glance, and it resets for the next loan.

Customer Service New Hire Training: Day 1 Kickoff
A facilitator deck that opens a 10-day program for mortgage servicing customer service reps. It covers the call flow, verification, and what a quality call sounds like, with an activity, a role play, and a knowledge check. Speaker notes carry timing and answers so any trainer can deliver it.
VA IRRRL: Application to Processing
A quick reference that takes loan officers from a new file to a clean hand-off in 15 steps. It flags the gates that stop a file, gives talk tracks for common borrower questions, and ends with a checklist.
Customer Service Training Plan
A 10-day curriculum map, a Day 1 lesson plan that reschedules itself when you change a segment’s minutes, and a call quality scorecard. Mark a behavior “Missed” and the score, critical-fail check, and rating update.
Executive Summary: Onboarding Program
A brief for leadership on a 10-day onboarding program. It leads with the bottom line, then shows how the program runs, what changes for the business, and how to measure each outcome.
L&D Project Tracker
Tracks every training request through ADDIE. Dropdowns keep entries consistent, percent complete and build time fill in automatically, overdue items are flagged, and a dashboard summarizes the pipeline.
All samples are de-identified. Company names, internal systems, and proprietary details have been removed or replaced.
